·          Begins to show signs of independence; says “no”

·          Understands and follows simple 1-step directions

·          Likes to take things apart

·          By 2, has vocabulary of several hundred words, including names of toys

·          Talks to self and “jabbers” expressively

·          Likes to choose between two objects

·          Listens to short rhymes or finger plays

·          Uses the words “please” and “thank you” if prompted

·          Enjoys singing familiar songs

 

        Spiritual

·          Begins to make simple choices

·          Continues to grow in trust of adults

·          Begins to distinguish between acceptable & unacceptable behavior

·          Begin to recognize simple pictures of Jesus
