MGBC RSS Feed
Rss stands for "Real
Simple Syndication" - a good explanation of what RSS is can be found
here at a
Wikpedia page (external link). The icon, usually orange,
that you see on many websites indicates a rss feed. Basically
rss is a way for you to be "fed" new information as it is posted to
a website without having to search for it.
On several of our pages
you will find the rss icon (
) that will take you to the online feed. You can also
have the feed directly on your task bar - then when you want to
check if there are any updates you can click on that icon and the
rss feed will be displayed.
Some of the desktop
readers are free, others you can pay for ...the
that I am currently using is free (Sharp
Reader) and integrates itself (which some folks do not care for)
with I.E.
Feed Demon 2.0 is a popular
reader that costs $29.00 and does not integrate in IE.
There are hundreds (if
not thousands) of feeds that you can subscribe to ranging from news,
sports, business ...almost unlimited subjects.
Additional information
may be posted here in the future about readers, methods, etc..
