A Letter to the Myrtle Grove Baptist Church Family
Dear Church Family:
The Bible tells us in 2 Corinthians chapter 9, verse 7, "Every man according
as he purposes in his heart, so let him give, not grudgingly, or of necessity:
For God loves a cheerful giver."
I want to take this opportunity to encourage each one of you to give
generously this year in 2012. For those of us who made a pledge last year
to increase our giving or to begin giving on a regular basis, let us stay true
to our pledge commitments. As the scripture says, we are to give not
grudgingly, but rather cheerfully. The Lord has given us so much here at
Myrtle Grove Baptist Church. He has blessed our church, its ministries and
its membership in so many different ways. One of the ways in which we
can thank Him is through our sacrificial financial gifts to our ministry
budget. As I mentioned last year, just a slight increase of $20 per month
from each of us can enable us to reach our budget needs each month. If
you have not yet made a commitment in your heart to increase your giving
to the general budget, it is not too late. Let's together, for the glory of God
and the ministry of this church in our community, give generously this year
to the work of our Lord.
In conclusion, let me challenge each of you to join me in faithful praying
that God will enable us to retire our debt this winter. Would it not be a
great thing at our 82nd anniversary/homecoming on April 22, to celebrate
our debt-free status as a church. Join me in praying for God to give us a
financial breakthrough in retiring our church debt.
The remaining money needed to retire the debt: Approximately $70,000.
With much love and appreciation,
Your Pastor,
Ron Lentine
