MGBC Home © Myrtle Grove Baptist Church 5920 Lillian Hwy - Pensacola, Fl 32506 - 2010  - 850-455-7389 Leaders for Life Picnic:  This Sunday (Oct 10th) is picnic day at Blue Angel Recreation Area. I hope you join us as we fellowship and celebrate the baptism of 15-20 believers. Periodically I plan to share some insights and information that I hope you will find helpful. God bless each of our Bible study leaders as you are faithful to follow God’s leadership to use your gifts for His kingdom’s glory.  God smiles when He sees His children using the gifts He has provided in service. God is doing some great things in our fellowship. Please continue to pray for one another as we grow together as followers of Christ. New Member Follow Up:  Each time someone joins the church we seek to connect them to a small group Bible study. We know for people to “stick” they have to build significant relationships within the church body. These relationships will most likely happen through the Sunday School.  From time to time you will receive a call/email from the church office asking you to make contact with a new church member to invite them to your class. Please take this request seriously and let the church office know you what you learned from the contact. What do you expect God to do through your Sunday School? Do you expect Him to send newcomers to the class often? (Are we inviting the unchurched?) Do participants expect to receive a fresh word every week through Bible study? Do you expect members to say “yes” to ministry opportunities to serve within and beyond the Sunday school hour? Do you expect your class to grow and plant new classes? Do you expect your class to release members to go and serve as your missionaries with other age groups? (Perhaps two people could serve on a rotating basis in Children’s Sunday School) LITERATURE The Winter 2010-2011 literature will arrive shortly.  (Where has this year gone?) Please let me know if you have a need. In an effort to be a good steward of the church’s resources we sometimes cut things a little bit close. I can usually find what we need somewhere. Please let me know if you need materials, and we’ll take care of it. See You Sunday, Chris Larsen   October 2010
