There were not many activities for just seniors in 1977, so a small group got together for a covered dish luncheon and a devotional. They were a lively group, and John Gillis dubbed them the ‘Keenagers’.  Since that time, the group has grown and formalized  its agenda. The leadership soon learned that highlights for seniors, (anyone over 55) was eating, travel, entertainment and ministering. Over the years seniors ministry has included the homebound, each other, the Golden Echoes, the clothing room, the food pantry,  FLC volunteers, funeral food, etc. Additional memories have been added with trips to Kentucky, Pennsylvania Amish Country, Epcot, Cypress Gardens, Silver Springs, Branson, Mo, and a host of other exciting destinations. The Keenagers glory in the love of God and each other and we really eat well on the first Tuesday of every month. To learn more about the Keenagers, contact Neil or Barbara Thorsen. Our next meeting will be 10:00 AM, Tuesday Sept 7, 2010, in the fellowship hall.  Our program will be presented by musician Mr Al Martin     For additional information, contact Neil or Barbara Thorsen.
