Myrtle Grove Baptist Church takes seriously the issue of safeguarding your privacy online. The following privacy statement discloses our information gathering and dissemination practices for our web site e-mail.

MGBC sites log IP addresses for system administration purposes only. IP addresses are logged to track a user’s session. This gives MGBC an idea of which parts of our site users are visiting. This information is collected solely for statistical purposes. We do not link IP addresses to anything personally identifiable. This means a user’s session will be tracked, but the user will be anonymous.

Our site does use "cookies" and specific data collection devices in connection with email in order to maintain an accurate subscription list - this information is never shared with any 3rd party, even within MGBC staff and members. (see below). You may unsubscribe at any time and your email address is automatically removed from the mailing list.

If you provide MGBC with your email address, you may occasionally receive direct communications from us. Your email address will not be shared with a third party - this includes other church members and staff unless you have granted permission to do so.

Online publications such as the Announcements, Prayer List, Bulletin and other documents will not include personal information such as address, phone numbers and email address.

There are two exceptions to the above:

1. The monthly "Messenger/Witness" publication which is published online in pdf format may at times have information that is not edited by the web manager (this may include phone numbers, home addresses and email addresses.

2. The Online Members Directory does contain your name, address, phone number, sometimes your family photo and some email addresses. The directory is double password protected. If for any reason you do not want certain information displayed please contact the office or web manager (via email link below) and that information will be removed.

Email Policy of MGBC:

1. MGBC is currently using a "verification" process to discourage spam from many sources. Details may be found by clicking here.

2. Email sent to the pastor is previewed by a ministry assistant prior to delivery to the pastor.

3. All other email sent to any MGBC email account (other than the pastor) is not screened or previewed in any way - this includes email sent to the prayer line email address (which is sent to a staff minister directly without screening).

MGBC has taken measures to ensure the safety of information stored on our site. Many of our pages are placed within a secure area. We use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption, the industry standard and best available secure transaction technology. However, please understand that if user names and passwords are shared with others then the information contained in those pages may be transmitted to others. Secure pages are indicated with the secure icon that your browser uses.

Privacy statement for individuals under 13

Encourages parents and guardians to spend time online with their children and to share with them the various pages of our site.
No information should be submitted to or posted at MGBC's Web sites by visitors under 13 years of age without the consent of their parent or guardian or vocational minister (Minister to Students)

By using any of the MGBC Web pages, you signify your agreement to the MGBC Online Privacy Policy. We reserve the right, at our discretion, to change, modify, add, or remove portions of this policy at any time. Please check this page periodically for changes.

Note: The information posted here is in context of both web content and email originated from the webmanager, not necessarily from MGBC staff in regards to our email subscription list. We strive to meet and go beyond all current ICAN email practices.
