First thing you should do is click on the "Help" tab on the tool bar and then the "About" button to determine what version of WMP you are using - |

The window below is what should open ...(if you are using version 8.xx) |

Close the above window (click "OK") then click on the "Tools" tab - then the "Options" Tab and the following window will open. |

Even though this is for version 8 of Windows Media Player (and it is desgined for Windows XP) Version 7.1 is very similar to this. |
