| Additional information:
Video files. Video files
are very large.
The 13 minute video clip of the
"procession" from the sanctuary to Butler Chapel was about 500 meg
in the original recorded format. The file is then re-formatted
in flv format and compressed to 10% of the original size...or about
50 meg.
If you use a dial up connection (and
a great many people still do) it will take forever for a file this
size to play. Typically these files are formatted to play at
450 kbs (dial up is 56). Even with a fast connection (dsl,
cable, etc) there can be times when there is buffering.
Your system connection speed,
internet traffic, your video card and processor speed can also have
an effect on how the files play.
Quality of the video: The more
movement there is in the recording the more "ghosts" and blurriness
will appear. The further away the camcorder is from the
subject and the zoom is used will also result in the blurriness.
Remember these files are reduced in size by about 90% of the
recorded media - there will be a loss of quality.
If you watch many videos that are
made in this manner on your computer you will notice that the ones
with the best quality are those where the speaker is almost always
sitting or standing still while they speak...very little movement.
Recording equipment: The
camcorder(s) that we use are "home" type recorders - this is not
commercial rated equipment. |
