Information
about MGBC Email - August 28, 2007 updated 10/16/07
Recently many
of the email accounts for MGBC have been hit with a large amount of
spam. Spam today can be much more than just a "bother"
To discourage
unwanted spam (is any of it wanted?) a "verification" process
is in place on MGBC email accounts.
When a person
sends a email to a mgbc email account you will be sent back a
"verification" email to ensure that you are a real person and not a
robot computer sending spam. (Robots do not normally answer
the verification).
All you have
to do is hit reply and send - no additional text is needed - Do NOT
change the subject line.
You will then
be sent an approval email stating that you have been added to the
approved list of senders.
Following this
procedure all future emails will be delivered automatically without
the verification process - per mgbc email account.
Most of us
have been to websites or subscribed to email newsletters where there
is a type of verification process in place.
update 09/29/07:
Emails sent by automated systems may not respond to the verification
process resulting in that particular email not being delivered.
Examples include e-cards & other items sent via a 3rd party other
than yourself.
If you have
any questions or comments please send a email via the link at the
bottom of this page - that address does not use the
verification/challenge process.
update 10/16/07:
Different Subject
Email that is
sent to the pastor is previewed by one of the ministry assistants.
If you are sending personal or sensitive information you should be
aware of this practice. All email sent to other ministers, the
ministry assistants or to the prayer line email address is not
previewed/screened prior to delivery by anyone. The prayer
line email is automatically directed to a staff minister only.
Generally speaking email
is a poor method of sending any specific personal information that
you would not want the world to possibly see - this applies to all
email from and to all sources.
thanks
