Violeta "Granny
Pete" Pitts Wise, age 90, of Beulah, passed away Friday, September 18,
2009 at a local hospital.
Violeta was born
in Portland, FL on November 27, 1918, and moved here in 1935.
She was a loving
wife, mother, and a wonderful homemaker to her family.
She was a member of Beulah Baptist
Church.
Violeta was preceded in death by her parents, James and Elizabeth Pitts;
her husband of 65 years, John Q. Wise; brothers, Devaughn Pitts, Adolph
Pitts, Jack Pitts, and Ed Pitts; and sister, Nita Jones.
She is survived by her son, Steve Wise (Nancy) of Columbia, MS,
daughters, Estelle Hill (Bob), Becky Richmond (Ken) and Sue Schweiger
(David); brothers, Cecil Pitts and Harvey Pitts all of Pensacola, FL;
sisters, Jewel Chapman of Atlanta, GA, Johnnie Elliott of Beulah, FL,
and Mavis Hensley of Bradenton, FL; half sisters, Hilda Turner of
Freeport, FL, and Katrina Harrison of Pensacola, FL.
She is also
survived by nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, five
great -great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 21, 2009 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
at Beulah Baptist Church.
Funeral service
will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at Beulah
Baptist Church, with Pastor Ken Loubriel officiating.
Burial will follow
in Pensacola Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Charles and the
staff at West Florida Hospital for their care and support to Mrs. Wise
and her family.
