Edith died
after a valiant battle with heart disease and diabetes.
She was born on
January 3, 1926 to Louis Alto and Annie Bell Boyington and lived in
Pensacola, FL.
Our mother was loved by all who knew her. She was an outgoing and
generous woman. She was a devoted wife and mother, grandmother, and
great-grandmother. Her faith in the Lord and her love of family were
what she held most dear.
She was preceded in death by her loving
husband, Frank Carr Winter; her parents, and her sisters, Agnes N.
Fisher and Doris A. Pitts.
Survivors include her son, Gregory D. Winter and his wife, Beth of Gulf
Breeze; her daughter, Paulette W. Burton and her husband, Henry of
Pensacola; her granddaughter, Kendall M. Burton and her fiancé, Jeffrey
Steven Hunley of Pensacola; her grandson, Russell T. Burton of Orlando.
Also, her precious great-granddaughter, Taylor Alexis Hunley, was a joy
to her during the previous ten months.
Other survivors include her beloved sister-in-law, JoAnne Proescholdt of
Santa Ana, CA and her devoted nieces, Beverly Solchenberger and Janice
Christian. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins, as well
as her friends too numerous to mention. Many of her friendships were
made during her twenty years as an Escambia County Food Service Manager
at Bellview elementary.
