James Henry
Williams of Pensacola passed away Sunday September
16, 2007.
Jim was born on December 30, 1937 in Citronelle,
Alabama.
He was a
1955 graduate of University Military School in
Mobile, Alabama. He enjoyed a 46-year career with
the U.S. Department of Defense.
He
started as an aircraft mechanic at Brookley Air
Force Base in Mobile, Alabama, transferred to DCAS
in Huntsville, Alabama, supporting the NASA Apollo
Program.
Later he
worked for the Glynco Naval Air Station at
Brunswick, Georgia and the Naval Training Systems
Center at Corry Station as a Field Engineering
Representative supporting Naval Electronic Warfare
Systems.
He
completed his DOD career at Defense Information
Systems Agency, Saufley Field as a Computer
Specialist/ Programmer.
He
returned to work as a Computer Systems Engineer for
the Anteon Corp and General Dynamics in Pensacola,
and served until 2006.
As his sons were growing up, Jim was active with the
Boy Scouts in Brunswick, Georgia and in Pensacola.
He was a
Scoutmaster of Troop 625 in Pensacola. He enjoyed
fishing, camping and traveling the country.
He is
member of Myrtle Grove Baptist Church.
He was a
devoted grandfather and friend to his 12
grandchildren.
His father Henry N. Williams and mother Jewel Gandy
Williams of Mobile, Alabama preceded him in death.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 48 years, Ann
Palmer Williams; sons, Russell S. Williams (Donna),
Brett A. Williams (Jennifer) and Eric P. Williams
(Dora); daughter, Samantha K. Williams;
grandchildren, Kelli M. Williams, John R. Williams,
Jeffery S. Williams, Hannah L. Williams, Joshua L.
Williams, Rachel M. Williams, Sarah E. Williams,
Carol Anne Williams, Elijah G. Williams, Rebecca J.
Williams, Brianna J. Williams and Avery J. Williams.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday,
September 19, 2007 at FAITH CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 100
Beverly Pkwy.
Visitation will be held from 5:30-9:00 PM Tuesday,
Sept. 18, 2007 at Faith Chapel.
