| Gwen Williams, age 69, of
Pensacola, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at her home.
She retired in 1994, as a Sgt, from the Escambia County Sheriff's
Department after 21 years of dedicated service. Gwen will be
remembered as the first female to attain the rank of Sergeant.
She loved the
outdoors, fishing and had a passion for gardening, especially
tending to her roses.
Preceded in death are her parents, Claude and Macy Pouncey;
daughter, Terri McPhel; and a sister, Cookie Helton.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Joel Williams; sons,
John Sanders (Linda) and Marvin Sanders (Gwen); grandchildren, Tara,
Katie, Audrey and Marvin Jr. "Meatey"; and great-granddaughter,
Kiara Sanders.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. today,
Sunday, January 20, 2008 at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 21, 2008 at
the funeral home.
Interment will follow at Pensacola Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements are by PENSACOLA MEMORIAL GARDENS FUNERAL HOME.
