| Charles William "Pete" Weatherford passed away quietly
in the comfort of his home in Pensacola, FL on Tuesday, November 19, 2002.
Pete was born in Dozier, AL on April 4, 1917. After graduating from
Dozier High School in 1935 he enlisted in the U. S. Marine Corps where he
served a four year tour of duty until 1940. That same year he enlisted in
the U.S. Navy and served until his retirement in 1959 at the rank of AOC.
Pete met his wife, Mildred, and they married in 1944. They shared over 58
years of wonderful marriage and two children. After retirement from the
U.S. military, Pete went on to serve the people of Northwest Florida and
South Alabama as a Claims Representative with the Social Security
Administration. He retired in 1981 with 46 years of total federal service.
Pete was a 32 degree Scottish Rite Mason and a member of the Fleet
reserve Association Branch 22 of Pensacola. During his retirement years he
enjoyed many rounds of golf at area courses.
Pete was well known as a generous and loving person, father and
husband. His life was centered around service to others.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, Mildred, son Andy Weatherford
(Heidi Chenevert), daughter Patti Wheeler (Tom Wheeler, Jr.), other
relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be at 10 AM Friday, November 22, 2002 at Oak
Lawn Funeral Home. The family will receive friends during the hour prior
to the service.
Burial will be in Barrancas National Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
OAK LAWN FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements.

Pensacola, FL 32501 in the memory of Charles W. Weatherford.
