| Charles Morris Traylor, age 85, beloved husband, father,
grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully into his
Heavenly Father's home on Wednesday, July 24, 2002. Mr. Traylor was born
in Randolph County, Alabama, on May 9, 1917, to Silas Traylor and Willie
Mae Messer Traylor. He moved with his family to LaGrange, Georgia, in
1927, and began his career with Callaway Mills in 1934. He married Tommie
Dorothy Traylor in 1936. After his retirement from Callaway Mills, he was
a barber in LaGrange but moved to Pensacola in 1963 where he began his
career as a barber at Lipham's Barber Shop until his retirement once again
in 1981. Not content to be one to be idle, he drove cars for Avis Rental
Car Company and worked at McDonald's as a host until 1998. He was a member
of Myrtle Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Traylor was preceded in death by his
parents, his sister, Ruby Dollar, and his brothers, Thomas, Emmett,
Wheeler, James, and Ed Traylor.
Mr. Traylor is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 66 years,
Tommie Dorothy Traylor; his two daughters and sons-in-law, Jo and Wayne
"Ike" Eichelberger of Pensacola, and Kay and Jimmy Epling of
Standardsville, Virginia; his grandson, Jon Eichelberger and wife Rachel
of Orlando, Florida; his grandson, Brice LeBlanc of Jacksonville, Florida;
and his great-grandchildren, Kalee, Kobe, and Kendra Eichelberger; and
numerous nieces and nephews as well as many friends.
Visitation will be at Oak Lawn Funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on
Friday, July 26.
A memorial service to be conducted by Rev. Ron Lentine, Pastor of
Myrtle Grove Baptist Church, will be held at Oak Law Funeral Home, 619
North New Warrington Road, on Saturday, July 27, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of
flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Myrtle Grove
Baptist Church Building Fund.
Oak Lawn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
The family wishes to express their many thanks to the caring and
concerned staff at West Florida Hospital in CCU and 4 South and North. Our
special thanks to Dr. Daniel Phillips, Dr. Jorge Pelaez, Dr. Mark Scott,
and their staff.
