Mrs. Smith was born in Mt. Pleasant, TX on January 8, 1918 and has resided in Pensacola for many years. She was a member of the Myrtle Grove Baptist Church and the Joy Sunday School Class, as well as a charter member of the Daughters of the Nile and was a Silver Life member. Mrs. Smith is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Bennie Smith. Survivors include her loving daughter, Barbara B. Little (Bill); two grandchildren, Joe Counterman of Austin, TX and Susan Koeller of Rochester, MN; four great grandchildren, Ryan, Sean and Ally Counterman and Kristin Koeller; as well as two great great grandchildren, Ginna and Parker Counterman. Visitation will be held 5-7pm Monday, January 30, 2012 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel with Daughters of the Nile Service to begin at 6:30pm. Funeral Service will be held 10:30am Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel with Dr. Alton Butler officiating. Burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Children's Transportation Fund of the Hadji Shrine Center, 800 W. Nine Mile Rd., Pensacola, FL 32534. The family wishes to express a special thanks to the health care staff at the Health Center of Pensacola for the love and care provided to their mother.
