Mrs. Ruth was born to Moses and Edna Lee on May 31, 1911, in Marianna, Florida. She was a homemaker and a member of Myrtle Grove Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar C. "Eddie" Ruth.

Mrs. Ruth is lovingly remembered by her son and his wife, Chester and Betsy Ruth of Pensacola; her daughters, Florette Tothill and her husband, Sonny, of Silver Spring, Maryland, and Karen Williams of Pensacola; her sister, Lydia Leona Lee Hagan of Pensacola; six grandchildren, Danny, Eddie, Stacey, and Susan Tothill, and Michelle and Chet Ruth; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 11:30 am, Friday, January 10, 2003, at Oak Lawn Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ron Lentine officiating. Interment followed at Barrancas National Cemetery. Pallbearers were members of Myrtle Grove Baptist Church.

Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
