James Kenneth Register passed away at the home of his stepdaughter, Susan Jester of Pensacola, September 14, 2006. He was born in Slocomb, Alabama and was employed at CSX Railroad since February 1956.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Dorothy; his stepchildren, Martin and Chris Best of Pensacola, Susan Jester (Clayton) of Pensacola, Sandra Mitchell (Ronnie) of Clanton, AL; three grandchildren, Michael Best of Pensacola, Jennifer Tucker of Clanton, AL, Jill Mitchell of Clanton, AL, Elizabeth Best of Texas; several Great Grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Vergle Register (Edna) of Crestview, FL; one sister, Nina Sue Dean of Pensacola and several nieces and nephews of this area.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 16, 2006 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home with Reverend David Dean officiating.. Interment will follow at Pensacola Memorial Gardens.

FAITH CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 100 is in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral service.

Pallbearers will be Jim Mead, Micki Adams, Billy Hual, Bill Stephens, Tommy Dickie and Paul Carr.

Flowers will be accepted and also donations may be made to The American Cancer Society.
