Mary Ratley 1922-2010
Mary O. Ratley, age 88, devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother passed away
on November 24, 2010.
She was born in Livingston, California and reared in Panama City, Florida. She lived in Pensacola, FL for over 65 years.
A patient and loving woman; she was a pillar of strength, a picture of grace, elegance, and class.
As a survivor of the great depression she instilled in her family the importance of hard work, honesty,
loyalty, and the value of family. She always led by example and was held in high regard by all that knew her.
Mrs. Ratley was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Luther W. Ratley; son, Patrick E. Ratley, and brother, Edwin J. O'Donnell.
She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth Ann Ratley Baisden (Zack), grandson's Zachary Paul Bookout and Heath Adam Bookout (Kimberly),
great granddaughter Ivy Elizabeth Bookout, and great grandson Luke Adam Bookout.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the love and care provided to Mrs. Ratley by Jeanene Davis, Candy Mathias, and
Lillie Salter. The family also wishes to say a very special thank you to Covenant Hospice for their compassionate care.
The visitation will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2010, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 28, 2010 at
2:00 p.m., both at Pensacola Memorial Funeral Home.
