Mickey M. Ortagus,
74, of Pensacola went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 27, 2003
in a local hospital following complications from surgery. She went
peacefully surrounded by loving family and friends.
She was born on July 7, 1929, in Repton, AL and has resided in Pensacola
for almost 50 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl I. Ortagus; her parents,
Fletcher and Annie Brazel; and brothers, Leroy and Harvey Brazel.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa (James) Statam of Pensacola; sons,
Jack (Maxine) Weathers, of Jacksonville and Ben (Mirian) Weathers of
Guatemala; five grandchildren; five great- grandchildren; three sisters;
two brothers; and many other family members and friends, including her
dearest friend of 33 years, Mrs. Betty Blackmon. She will truly be missed
by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be on Monday, December 29th from 4-6 at McNeil-Keyes
Funeral Home. Service will be held Tuesday, December 30th at 8:30 at the
funeral home with Dr. Alton Butler officiating. Interment will follow at
Barrancas National Cemetery, NAS Pensacola.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Baptist Health
Care Foundation or to the charity of your choice.
The family would like to thank Dr. William Shanahan and the Physicians and
staff at Baptist Hospital for their loving care and support. McNeil-Keyes
Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
