Charlie Mae
Nichols, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away
on Friday, July 14, 2006 at Baptist Hospital. "Ma-ma" will be greatly
missed by her family and all who knew her.
Charlie Mae was born August 19, 1929 in Benton, Alabama, but had spent
the majority of her life in Pensacola.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 41 years, Jimmie O.
Nichols Sr.; her son, Johnny R. Nichols; her mother, Annie Mae Williams
Young; and father, Charlie H. Williams.
She retired from Monsanto in 1985 after 30 years of service as a
forelady. "Ma-ma" was an avid sports fan and spent many years serving at
Myrtle Grove Community Club and Escambia High School quarterback club as
both of her boys played ball there. She was also a member of Myrtle
Grove Baptist Church.
Charlie Mae is survived by her devoted son and daughter-in-law, Jimmie
and Pat Nichols; three grandchildren, Johnny Nichols and his wife,
Stephanie, Holly Key and her husband, Barry, and Ashley Murray and her
husband, Mark. She is also survived by seven beautiful
great-grandchildren, Jordan and Ally Nichols, Cody and Kyle Key, Nolan,
Caroline and Lauren in Murray.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 18 at 6:00 p.m. at Faith Chapel South,
100 Beverly Parkway, Pensacola, Florida.
Services will follow at 7:00 p.m. with the Rev. Clint Purvis
officiating. Burial will be at Bayview Memorial Park beside her loving
husband Jimmie and son Johnny. "Ma-ma" and "Pa-pa" are together again in
heaven and we will all see them again one day...
