Maurleen Ann McCann, age 68, went
home to be with her Savior on Monday, March 1, 2010 at the Covenant
Hospice at West Florida Hospital, Pensacola.
She was born on January 19, 1942
in Denver CO, the daughter of the late Victor and Vida McMullin.
She married Patrick G. McCann, US
Navy.
Maurleen worked in the
administration area of the Denver Post Newspaper and held many other
positions until our children came; then she became a full time mom.
She was a faithful member of
Myrtle Grove Baptist Church.
She was affectionately known as
"Mimi" and "Grandma" to her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Rev. Patrick G. McCann of Pensacola;
three children, a daughter, Dixie I. Simonson, Littleton, CO; a son,
Patrick G. McCann, Jr. of Wilmington, IL; and a daughter, Christine R.
Gillis of Romeoville, IL; six grandchildren, Matthew R. Gillis, II of
Romeoville, IL, Dylan L. Simonson of Littleton, CO, Megan R. Gillis of
Romeoville, IL, Michael P. McCann, Madison R. McCann and Katelyn McCann
of Wilmington, IL.
She is further survived by two
older brothers, Everitt N. McMullin, Commerce City, CO and Victor W.
McMullin of Cheyenne, WY.
Visitation will be held at the Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, located at
12th and Airport, on Friday, March 5th from 5 to 7PM.
The Funeral Service will be at 10 AM at Myrtle Grove Baptist Church,
5920 Lillian Highway on Saturday, March 7, 2010.
A Family/Friends private internmnent service will be on Monday, March
8th at 11:45AM at Barrancas National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society
, 5400 Corporate Woods Dr., Pensacola, FL 32504 or on-line at
www.cancer.org in Maurleen's
name.
