Lacy Lodge Mayon, age 85, went home to be with her Lord on December 19, 2006.

She was born on August 27, 1921, in Grady County, Georgia. She was one of 12 children born to her parents, Willie "Green" and Ruby Lodge.

Mrs. Mayon was preceded in death by her husband, Lenest P. "Sonny" Mayon; a son, Vernard Hanna; stepdaughters, Cynthia and Sandra; and a grandson, Justin.

Mrs. Mayon, a life-long resident of Myrtle Grove, was an active member in her community, an Eastern Star member, and a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She lovingly served so many as she raised her children, and the children of others, while enjoying her favorite pastime of baseball.

Mrs. Mayon, a civil service and school board retiree, enjoyed her vocations, especially as a county bus driver for children with special needs. All those who knew her shall remember the love she had for all. Special thanks to those at Sacred Heart and Specialty Care Center who took great care of Mrs. Mayon.

Mrs. Mayon is survived by her sons, Preston Lee Hanna, Rodney K. Hanna, Mickey Mayon, Jeff Mayon; her daughter, Phyllis Ann Seal; and her 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends for visitation, at Oak Lawn Funeral Home, on Thursday, December 21, 2006, from 6-8 p.m. An Eastern Star service will be held at the funeral home at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 22, 2006, at Oak Lawn Funeral Home, with Dr. Alton Butler officiating.
