| Robert Martin was born April 14, 1916 in, Black, Alabama
and passed away January 6, 2003. He resided in Pensacola, Florida for 86
years. He retired after 39 years as a locomotive engineer for the Frisco
Rail Road. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Wright R.
Martin, Sr., and Sue Hamby Martin. He was also preceded in death by his
brothers, Joe L. Martin (Ft. Walton Beach, FL) and Roy H. Martin (Opp,
AL.) He is survived by his loving devoted wife of 59 years, Helen Worthy
Martin, and one daughter, Susan Martin (Amory), MS) his sister, Louise
Dorsey (Opp, AL), and his little white dog, Sue of 19 years.
He will be missed and remembered by everyone who knew his as having a
good sense of humor and always willing to share and lend a helping hand to
his fellow man.
Robert was an honest hard working Christian man, who always tried to
set a good example and encouraged families to have Christian homes thus
making this world a better place.
His hobbies were fishing, gardening, fixing anything that was broken
and recycling whatever could be used again.
Funeral Services will be at Oak Lawn Funeral Home, 10:00 a.m.,
Thursday, January 9, 2003. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M.
January 8, 2003. Pastor Ron Lentine and Rev. Al Butler will be
officiating. Interment will be at Peaceful Acres, Opp, AL, at 3:30 p.m.
Oak Lawn Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
