Emory Donovan Lord, Jr. passed away peacefully to be with his lord and Savior on November 9, 2009, while under the loving care of the staff of Covenant Hospice, West Florida Hospital, Pensacola, Florida.

 He was 84.

"Don" was born in Tampa, Florida. A Navy veteran of WWII and graduate of Florida State University, he resided most of his life in Pensacola where he was the Laboratory Director of Northwest Florida for the Florida State Board of Health from 1952 thru 1981.

 His career with the Florida State Board of Health spanned a total of 45 years, 1946-1991.

He was a member of the Myrtle Grove Baptist Church.

Don is survived, and will be greatly missed, by his loving and devoted wife of 62 years, Joyce L. Lord; his children, Emory S. Lord, Linda A. Liechty, Russell D. Lord, and their spouses; six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, his sister, Dorothy Keene, and numerous other family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, November 16, 2009, at Oak Lawn Funeral Home, 619 New Warrington Rd, Pensacola, FL.

Visitation will be held from 12:00pm to 1:00pm.

 Following visitation, the Reverend Doctor Al Butler will deliver the memorial service.

 Interment will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery onboard Pensacola Naval Air Station.
