Mrs. Dora Kotarski of Pensacola passed away on Friday, November
26, 2004.
She was born in Lumberton, N.C. on July 11, 1908. She married Leavy
Register while he was in the army stationed in Fort Bragg, N.C. After
six years of service she and Leavy moved to several different towns in
N.C. but then came to Pensacola where her husband Leavy died in 1947 at
the age of 39. Dora later moved back to North Carolina where she met and
married Carl Kotarski in 1955. Carl was a Master Staff Sergeant in the
Army. They were stationed in Germany where she visited five different
countries. After Carl retired they moved to Charleston S.C. Carl died in
1990. Dora moved to Pensacola in 1994 to live near her only child. She
lived at Myrtle Grove Village several years and then moved to
Carpenter's Creek Assisted Care, where she lived until her death. Every
one there were really fond of her.
Dora was preceded in death by her two husbands, mother, father and six
sisters.
She is survived by her only child, Nita Register Abercrombie; five
grandchildren, Rick Abercrombie and his wife Mary, Julie Davis and her
husband Dan, Rita Enderson and her husband Terry, Ronald Henderson, all
of Pensacola, and Anita Faulkner and her husband Joe of Virginia. She
has eleven great-grandchildren and one more expected soon.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Carpenter's Creek
for the care extended.
There will be a graveside service at Barrancas National Cemetery for
family and friends and all who cared for her. A procession will leave
Oak Lawn Funeral Home on New Warrington Road Tuesday, November 30, 2004
at 11:30 a.m. going to Barrancas National Cemetery for a 11:45 a.m.
service. Dr. Alton Butler will officiate.
In Lieu of flowers the family request that donations may be made to
Myrtle Grove Baptist Church Building Fund.
