| Thomas J. Kirkland 85, of Pensacola, beloved husband and
father went to be with his Heavenly Father at his home October 8, 2002. He
had been lovingly cared for through his lengthy illness by his wife Mabel,
daughters Mary Ellen and Amy and care giver Cassie Knight. Mr. Kirkland
was born in Thomasville, GA to Travis and Annie Kirkland. After his
service in the U.S. Navy he worked with the Civil Service at NAS Pensacola
and retired as the head of the Materials Department.
Mr. Kirkland will be fondly missed by his relatives and friends for his
kind and sweet nature, humor and loving support.
Survivors include his wife; Mabel, children; Mary Ellen (Bruce)
Lanolette of New Bern, NC, and Amy Kirkland, brothers; James (Francis) and
Homer Kirkland of Panama City, FL.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm Thursday October 10, 2002 at
Oak Lawn Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon to
1:30 p.m. Thursday October 10, 2002.
Burial will be in Bayview Memorial Park. Pastors Dr. Alton Butler and
Ron Lentine of Myrtle Grove Baptist Church will officiate.
Oak Lawn Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
