| Harry H. Stone, age 81, of Pensacola died Wednesday, September 5, 2001.
Mr. Stone was born May 25, 1920 in Munson, Florida and resided in Pensacola
most of his life. He was a veteran of World War II and began Civil Service at
NAS in 1946, later transferring to the staff of Chief of Naval Air Training till
retirement in 1974. He was a Deacon of Myrtle Grove Baptist Church and an avid
golfer for many years.
Mr. Stone's parents, James H. and Esther Stone; two brothers, Don and Walter
Stone; one sister, Earline Lindsey; and son-in-law, John Grass, preceded him in
death.
Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Marjorie M. Stone; three
daughters, Patti Amos (and husband Barry), Harriette Gonterman (and husband
Robert) and Barbara Grass; nieces and nephews, Margie Gregory and David Carson,
Angela Wolfe and Thames Stone; brother-in-law, Donald C. McKenney (and wife
Libby); seven grandchildren; eight great- grandchildren; as well as other
relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 11am Monday, September 10, 2001 at Oak Lawn Funeral
Home with Dr. Alton Butler and the Rev. Ron Lentine officiating.
Burial will be in Barrancas National Cemetery with Military Honors.
Pallbearers will be Art Brigham, Lawrence Comerford, Gordon Howell, Joseph
English, Vernon Eddius and Robert Gonterman.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Foundation Sunday School Class.
OAK LAWN FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be Sunday from 3 to 5pm at the funeral home.
