Velma H. Hobbs, 93, of Pensacola, passed away Monday, April 27, 2009.

Born on September 22, 1915 to the late James R. Hollingsworth and Trudie Blackmon, she will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother and caring grandmother who enjoyed gardening and cooking for her family and friends.

She was a lifelong member of Myrtle Grove Baptist Church and a Past Worthy Matron, Ensley Chapter 244 of the Order of Eastern Star.

Preceded in death are husband Homer F. Hobbs and a daughter, Doris Faye Dorman.

Survivors include daughter Bobbi Jean Thomas; grandchildren Julie, Chip, Susan and Stuart Dorman and Tracy (Michael) Bush; great-grandchildren Victoria, Cortney, Lainey and Jacob Bush; a sister, Rosena Alvira; son-in-law Mallory Dorman; several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 1, 2009 at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home until services begin at 2:00 p.m. Officiating will be Dr. Alton Butler.

Interment will follow at Pensacola Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Mallory Dorman, Chip Dorman, Stuart Dorman, Michael Bush, Craig Pitts and Phil Fischler.

Arrangements are by Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.
