Sadye was a member of Myrtle Grove Baptist Church and the Escambia Retired Educators Association. She was born in Flat Creek, Alabama. After graduating from the University of Montevallo, she taught for 30 years in high schools in Escambia County Florida.

She is preceded in death by her husband James Paul Hawke Sr.

She leaves her daughter, Emily and son-in-law Bill Jewell; her son, James Paul Hawke, Jr. and daughter-in-law Julie; one grandson, James Paul (Jamie) Hawke III, and two step-granddaughters, Jennifer and Jessica.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM on Tuesday, July 15, 2003 at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with Dr. James Hackney officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, beginning at 1:00 PM. Burial will be in Pensacola Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Myrtle Grove Baptist Church Building Fund.
