Vera Tabb Harmon of Pensacola died Tuesday, July 20, 2004, following a
lengthy illness. Vera was born on May 22, 1924 in Pensacola and
graduated from Pensacola High School in 1942. She was the beloved wife
of Buford Bud" Harmon for 60 years. She worked at Chemstrand for 10
years as a shift supervisor and retired as the Financial Secretary from
Myrtle Grove Baptist Church in 1976. She has many friends from Myrtle
Grove to cherish her memory.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Sam and Doris Tabb, and her
brother Ed Tabb.
She is survived by her husband, Buford Harmon; her son Frank (Val), Gulf
Breeze; her sister Mabel (George) Lepley, Cantonment; her brother Sam
(Ann), and sister-in-law Marie Tabb, Pensacola; her grandchildren, Kay
(John) Groth, Michelle Harmon, and Andy Harmon; three great
grandchildren, Natalie, Kelly, and Matthew, and many beloved nieces and
nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, July 23, 2004, at 2:00 p.m., at
the Myrtle Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Ron Lentine and Dr. Alton
Butler officiating. Burial will follow at Pensacola Memorial Gardens.
Oak Lawn Funeral Home, 619 New Warrington Rd., Pensacola, FL, 32506, is
in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, July
22, 2004, from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Andy Harmon, John Groth, Mike Tabb, Edward Lepley,
Wayne Lepley, Ray Lepley, Freddy Lepley, Chris Lepley, and Bill
Singleton.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Myrtle Grove
Baptist Church or the charity of their choice.
