| Tommy T. Halfhill passed away Monday, August 20, 2001 at the age of 76. Mr. Halfhill, a native of Wichita, Kansas had resided in Pensacola for the
last 33 years, was born on May 1, 1925. A WWII veteran, he served 22 years in
the United States Navy, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer in 1965. He later
retired from Pensacola NARF, Avionics Division in 1985. A longtime resident of
Pensacola, he was an active member of Myrtle Grove Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ellen M. Halfhill of Pensacola; one
son, Bob Halfhill (and his wife Eunice) of Pensacola; two daughters, Sue
Halfhill of Orlando, Fla. and Cindy Gates (and her husband Mark) of Olympia,
Wash.; his grandchildren, Chris Gardner (and his wife Jessica), Robyn Halfhill,
Becky Gardner, Jessica Gates, Kirk Gates, Vanessa Herrera, Cindy Herrera and
Elena Halfhill; two great-grandchildren, Eric Gardner and Emma Gardner; one
sister, Mary Unruh (and husband Milfred) of Roosevelt, Utah; and many nieces and
nephews.
Funeral services will be 11am Friday, August 24, 2001 at Oak Lawn Funeral
Home with the Rev. Ron Lentine officiating.
Burial will follow at the Barrancas National Cemetery with military honors.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of his Sunday School class of the Myrtle
Grove Baptist Church.
OAK LAWN FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7pm Thursday, August 23, 2001 at the funeral
home.
