| Jack J. Fell, 79, of Pensacola, died Monday, October 7,
2002 at his home. Jack was a member of Myrtle Grove Baptist Church.
Mr.
Fell was born in Savannah, GA and moved to Pensacola at an early age with
his parents, the late John G. and Winnie B. Fell. Jack attended local
schools and graduated from Pensacola High School in 1942, where he played
football his senior year. He also played city and county league baseball.
Upon graduation, Jack worked briefly for the Southern Bell Telephone
Company until being drafted into the US Army, where he served as a
military policeman during WWII.
Upon returning to Pensacola, Jack continued his work with Southern Bell
and retired as a supervisor after 40 years of service. He was a much-loved
son, brother, husband, father and grandfather. Jack was very devoted to
his family.
His parents and a brother, Billy G. Fell preceded Jack in death.
Jack is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Emma Laura Stewart
Fell. His survivors also include; daughters, Jackie L. Ward (Roger), of
Pensacola, Rita Gore Riggs (Jason), of Jacksonville, FL, a son, John
Samuel Fell (Paige), of Birmingham, AL, sisters: Annie Wilson, of
Pensacola and Roberta Fell, of Hazelhurst, MS, grandchildren: Matthew Gore
and Emily Riggs, Emma and Samantha Fell, step-grandchildren: Alan and
Scott Ward, Kristi Baragan and several nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Service will be held 10:00am Thursday October 10, 2002 at
Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Lentine and Dr. Alton Butler
officiating. Burial will follow at Bayview Memorial Park Cemetery.
Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
The visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at
the Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be: Sam Fell, Jason Riggs, Matthew Gore, Roger Ward,
Ned Wilson, Jim Wilson and George Fell.
