Capt. Goodloe Tennessee Farrington, Sr., 89,
died October 15, 2006. He was born September 30, 1917 in Murfreesboro,
TN to Torrence Hiram and Sophia Fournier Farrington.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Jeanette Josephine and
grandson Goodloe T. "Tony" Farrington, III.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years Edna Faye Adams Farrington; sons,
Goodloe T. "Red" Farrington and Charles Gary Farrington, Sr.;
grandchildren, Cathy Paulchek, Charles Gary "Chip" Farrington, Jr., and
Harmony and Stacey Matson; great-grandchildren Cameron and Kinsey
Paulchek; brothers, David Farrington and George Farrington of Freeport,
FL, James Farrington of Arlington, TX; sisters, Virginia Wood and Jean
Rollins of Freeport, FL and Margie Clark of Knoxville, TN.
He has been a Tug Boat Captain all his working life. He traveled up the
Mississippi River and Intercoastal Waterways from Texas to Florida and
up the Georgia rivers. He loved all kinds of boats so very much and
loved being on the water-it was his life.
He was a member of the Myrtle Grove Baptist Church, Pensacola Masonic
Lodge 42, Florida Chapter 9 O.E.S., and the Seafarers International
Union.
We wish to thank Covenant Hospice so very much for helping with his
care, they are wonderful. Words can not express our appreciation.
Memorial service will be Saturday, October 21 at 2:30 p.m. at Myrtle
Grove Baptist Church with Dr. Alton Butler officiating.
