Jean Elizabeth Dennis, 77, of Pensacola, FL passed away on Monday, August 14, 2006.

Jean was born in Darlington County, South Carolina on December 23, 1928 and has lived in Pensacola for the last 59 years. She is survived by her loving, caring husband James A. Dennis, Jr.; married 59 years 11 months. Jean retired from Federal Civil Service in 1989 and was a long-standing member of Myrtle Grove Baptist Church. She also served as a former President of Myrtle Grove Community Center's Ladies Auxiliary and was an active member of Myrtle Grove Community Center during the 60's and 70's.

She is also survived by her grateful, loving children, grand-children, great-grand children and many dear friends who were blessed by her loving, caring ways; her children; son, Michael Dennis and wife Susan from Horseshoe, NC; daughter Paula Van Trigt and husband Pete from Los Alamitos, CA, daughter Dorothy Dennis from Clearwater, FL, daughter Susan Pavlock and husband Michael from Bradenton, FL; her grand-children, Sherry Dennis from Horseshoe, NC, Jason Dennis and wife Shana from Helena, AL, Paige & Priscilla Van Trigt from Los Alamitos, CA, Sarah Pavlock from Bradenton, FL; her great-grandchildren, Olivia and Zachary Dennis from Helena, AL; her sister, Nina Smith and husband John from Bishopville, SC, her brother-in-law Patrick Dennis and wife Myrtle Ann from Charleston, SC and her sister-in-law Marion McCaskill and husband Mack from Camden, SC.

Pallbearers will be Michael Dennis, Pete Van Trigt, Michael Pavlock, Jason Dennis, Jimmy Brittain, and Doug Peters. Honorary Pallbearers will be Norma Brittain, Joyce Campbell, Laverne Ricks, Nell Bryant, Edna Cook, Carolyn Eiland, and Martha Langford.

Visitation will be held Thursday, August 17, 2006 from 5 - 7 pm at Oak Lawn Funeral Home, Pensacola, FL. Private family funeral services will be held Friday, August 18, 2006 with Dr. Alton Butler officiating. Burial services to follow at Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola Naval Air Station.
