| Willie Faye Council, age 83, a resident of Pensacola for
51 years, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family, Monday,
October 7, 2002. A native of Alabama, Mrs. Council worked in the
restaurant business for many years. Her most beloved interest was
gardening and visiting her many friends and neighbors. She was referred to
as the "Cornerstone of Osceola."
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 43 years, W.D.
Council.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Lee Ann and Ronald
Chastain of California, daughters, Ruby Carolyn Laster and Rita Joyce
Muldoon, eight grandchildren, Roger Dunn, Amy Lynn Freitas, RIchard
Findley, Jr., James Dunn, Angie Simpson, Cathy Laster, Jamie Muldoon,
Shawn Muldoon and 20 great grandchildren, brothers, Rev. Calvin Strickland
of Selma, AL and John T. Strickland of Mobile, AL, and a sister, Louise
Fox of Mobile.
She was tenderly cared for by her caregivers Sandy Radford, Avis
Dunnavant, and Covenant Hospice, West Team.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, Oct. 10, 2002 in the
Chapel at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Visitation will be from
6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002.
Active Pallbearers will be Shawn Muldoon, Art Dooley, Robert Simpson,
Richard Findley, Joe Schoen, and Jim Muldoon.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Ron Chastain, Roger Dunn, James Dunn, and
John Laster.
Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
