CTMC James D. Burrus, U.S.N. (Ret)., 63, of Pensacola, died Tuesday, October 31, 2006 at his home.

James was born December 24, 1942 in Magnolia, Arkansas to James O. Burrus and Thelma Dilley Burrus. In 1980, James retired from the U. S. Navy after 20 years of service. After retiring from the U.S. Navy, James went to work for CNET at Pensacola NAS, and after many years as the Senior Systems Manager, he retired in 2006.

James was a member of Myrtle Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife Dawn E. Burrus of Pensacola; daughters, Roxanne G. Burrus of San Diego, CA and Karen E. Burrus of Pensacola; sister, Edwina Faye Schmidt of Lebanon, OR and Opal Tolson of Smyrna, TN; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 03, 2006 at Myrtle Grove Baptist Church with Reverend Ron Lentine officiating.

BAYVIEW FISHER-POU CHAPEL, 3351 Scenic Highway is in charge of arrangements.
