Hubert Owen Bozeman, Sr., 77, of Pensacola,
passed from this life to life eternal on February 7, 2004. He is deeply
loved and will be greatly missed.
Mr. Bozeman grew up in Chickasaw, AL. but resided in Pensacola since
1966. He is a World War II veteran, having served in the United States
Navy. After the war, he served in the Merchant Marines. He began a
career in civilian service as an aircraft mechanic and foreman at
Brookley Air Force Base in Mobile, AL. and continued as an Industrial
Engineer and Technician at the Naval Air Station in Pensacola. He
retired as a supervisor in 1988.
Mr. Bozeman was very active in youth league baseball at Myrtle Grove
Community Ballpark, having served as a coach and president in every boys
league. As a Christian believer, he was an active member of Myrtle Grove
Baptist Church in Pensacola for the last 38 years.
Mr. Bozeman is survived by his wife of 49 years, Rochelle Hudson Bozeman
of Pensacola. He has four children, Laura B. Girod, of Riverside, CA.;
Dr. H. Owen Bozeman, Jr. and his wife, Debbie, of Warner Robins, GA.,
Timothy M. Bozeman and his wife, Linda, of Pensacola, and Rebecca J.
Brown and her husband, Paul, of Pensacola. He has one brother, Mr.
Aubrey Glenn Bozeman, of Chickasaw, AL.
He also has nine grandchildren, Nicholas Girod, Matthew Bozeman, Kristin
Girod, Michael Brown, Katie Bozeman, Joshua Brown, Jonathan Brown,
Timothy Brown and Zachary Bozeman; and two step grandchildren, Logan and
Jessica McEwen. Also surviving him are close sisters and
brothers-in-law, Syble and James Riley, Gainesville, FL, Pat Adams,
Concord, N.C., Willard and Verna Hudson, Apply Valley, CA; in addition
are many nieces and nephews who were special to him.
Funeral services for Mr. Bozeman will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday,
February 10 at the Myrtle Grove Baptist Church with Dr. H. Owen Bozeman,
Jr. and Rev. Ron Lentine, officiating. Burial will follow at Pensacola
Memorial Gardens with Dr. Alton Butler officiating.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Nicholas Girod, Matthew Bozeman, Michael
and Joshua Brown, Harold Mitchell, Bill Owens and Rick Kennedy.
The family will receive friends at the Pensacola Memorial Gardens Chapel
on Monday evening, February 9, from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
