Thomas Clinton (Clint) Bobe entered into the
presence of his Savior, Jesus Christ, on October
24, 2006, at the age of 91.
The son of John Clinton Bobe and Bernice Prather Bobe, he was a native
of Pensacola and a direct descendant of Francisco Bobe.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years,
Wendy Jenks Bobe, and our children; Terry Bobe of Carrollton, Texas,
Janice Martinez of San Jacinto, California, Donald Bobe of Foley,
Alabama, and John Bobe of Gulf Shores, Alabama. He also leaves 10
grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Two brothers, Charles
Bobe and Ted Bobe, and three sisters, Lorene Taylor, Kathleen Hines, and
Dorothy Miller survive him as well.
Clint will be remembered best as the owner, along with his wife,
of Bobe's Hobby House in Pensacola where they have been in business for
52 years. Over the years he has introduced many young people as well as
adults to airplane modeling and remote control flying.
He was a veteran of WW II, with a career in
the U.S. Navy as a machinist and airplane mechanic.
As a teenager in the late 1920's Clint
worked as an usher in the Saenger Theater in Pensacola.
As a member of the Myrtle Grove Baptist Church he served many years as a
deacon, Sunday School teacher, and Boy Scout leader. Clint was a 33rd
degree Mason with the Scottish Rite, a member of the Academy of Model
Aeronautics, Pensacola Aeromodelers, and Aircraft Owners and Pilot's
Association.
Arrangements are being handled by Bayview Fisher- Pou Chapel with
interment at Bayview Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Thursday, Oct.
26th, from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 27th.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations maybe made to the Friends of the
