Matthew Barnes, 83 of Pensacola, passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2005.

Mr. Barnes was an active member of the Myrtle Grove Baptist Church. He was also a member of the American Legion #240, Masons and a very active member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #3483.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Flossie Barnes; parents, Joseph and Mary Barnes; and six brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his children, Jim Barnes, Jeannie (Bob) Hardy, and Joe (Stephani) Barnes; grandchildren, Robert A. Hardy, Jr., Jason J. Hardy, Jessica Barnes Cutter, Jody (Tiffane Marie) Barnes, Robert Matthew Barnes, and Jeannie and Jamey Barnes; great-grandchild, Ellie Hardy; and very special friend Elsie Campbell.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Lentine officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening, March 15, 2005 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
