Arthur Barnes, age 84 of Pensacola, our beloved husband, daddy, granddaddy and great granddaddy, went gently into the arms of our Loving Lord at 5:28 a.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2008.

Arthur was born November 10, 1924 in Castleberry, AL to Henry Edgar and Rebecca Oliver Barnes.

 He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, John H. and Bobby Barnes; and his precious grandson, Austin Edward Barnes.

Arthur was a member of Myrtle Grove Baptist Church and the Homebound Sunday School Department.

 He served in the Untied States Navy during World War II. He was a journeyman electrician and past Co-owner in J.D. (Buck) Ingram Electric Co.

Arthur retired from ECUA as an Instrument and Electrical Technician.

Survivors are his wife of 58 years, Evelyn Barnes; three daughters, Brenda Boutwell (Herbert III) of Naples, Italy; Marian Comer of Pensacola, FL, and Pamela Presley (James) of Cantonment, FL; one son, Michael A. Barnes (Susan) of Pensacola, FL; seven grandchildren, Sarah Paige (Michael), Amber Record, Summer Murphy (Robert), Ryan and Nicholas Barnes, Joshua and Kendall Presley; one great granddaughter, Cassidy Paige; two brothers, Virgie L Barnes (Virginia) of Clinton, MS, and David Ross Barnes (Ann) of Pensacola, FL; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at Myrtle Grove Baptist Church. Reverend Ron Lentine and Dr. Alton Butler will officiate.

Interment will follow in Pensacola Memorial Gardens.

 Five grandsons and one nephew will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.

The family wishes to thank Covenant Hospice for their loving and caring assistance to Arthur as he commenced his final journey into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father.
