Ola Eeds Baker
Mrs. Ola Eeds Baker, 82, a resident
of Perry, passed away on May 17,
2008 in Perry.
"Ola B" was
born on March 10, 1926, to the late
Mr. Ennos Clyde and Ola Nash Eeds in
Huttig, Arkansas.
She and her
husband lived in Perry from 1962
to1970, and moved back here in 1989,
having served in churches in Milton
then Pensacola.
Mrs.
Baker received her Bachelors of Arts
degree from Louisiana College and
did post graduate study at
Southwestern Baptist Theological
Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas where
she met her husband, Rev. Glenn H.
Baker.
She taught
school in Arkansas for a short time;
she also served as a Summer
Missionary in New Mexico to the
Spanish speaking community in 1950.
Mrs.
Baker was a member of the First
Baptist Church of Perry, where she
was Sunday School Teacher, past
leader of the WMU, Keenage singer,
and choir leader.
She served
with her husband in the ministry for
Christ for over 55 years in Florida.
Survivors
include her husband of 57 years,
Rev. Glenn H. Baker of Perry; two
sons, Robert G. "Bob" Baker (Janet)
of Huntsville, Ala., and William C.
"Bill" Baker (Robyn) of Milton,
Fla.; grandchildren, Faith Elizabeth
Freeze (Shem) of Louisville, Ky. and
James Robert "Robby" Glenn Baker of
Huntsville, Ala.; and a step-mother,
Roxie Moore Eeds and a brother L.
Paul Eeds (Kitty) all of Shelby,
N.C. A host of nieces and nephews
and many good friends also survive
her.
Funeral
services will be held Tuesday, May
20, 2008 at 11 a.m. in the First
Baptist Church of Perry. Interment
will follow at Pineview Memorial
Gardens in Perry. The visitation
will be today, May 19, 2008, evening
from 5 to 8 pm at First Baptist
Church. In lieu of flowers,
donations can be made to the Family
Life Center Building Fund at First
Baptist Church P.O. Box 1119, Perry,
Florida 32348, in memory of Mrs. Ola
Baker.
