Evelyn Malone Atkins,75, of
Pensacola entered into the waiting arms of her Heavenly Father on
Monday, March 8, 2004.
Mrs. Atkins was born in north Escambia County and was a member of Myrtle
Grove Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her first husband,
Dowling R. Malone, parents, Liston and Etta Graham, and brothers, Talton
and Peg Graham.
Survivors include her husband, I. D. Atkins; three sons, Mark Malone,
Barry Malone (Donna), and Brian Malone (Rita); daughter, Linda Bass
Newton (Don);three step-daughters, Beverly Williamson, Patricia Carter
(Matt), and Kathy Kahler (Oliver); brother, Ernest Graham (Ruth); three
sisters, Barbara Fillmore (Robert), Ann McCall (Calvin), and Cheryl
Wasdin (Lamar); 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will at 12 Noon Thursday, March 11, 2004 at Oak Lawn
Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Lentine and Doctor Alton Butler
officiating.
Burial will be in Barrancas National Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Glenn Fillmore, Jeff Fillmore, Jason
Fillmore, Keith Wasdin, Don Newton, and J. R. Malone Butler.
Honorary pallbearers will be Lamar Wasdin, Robert Fillmore, Calvin
McCall, Ernie Graham, Pete Peterson, Eric McCall, and Mike McCall.
OAK LAWN FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 PM to 6 PM at the funeral home.
The family wishes to express their heart-felt "Thank You" to Dr. James
L. Lonquist, Dr. Shailesh J. Patel, Dr. Rao S. Rammohan, and Covenant
Hospice for their compassion and care and to all of her very dear
friends who have stood by her.
