Life Signs: Contemporary without Compromise Solutions Found! Hebrews 12:2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the Throne of God. Where do you look for help or solutions from your problems?  Several years ago, Pastor Ron explained how to keep our problems smaller than we tend to make them out to be.  Here is an exercise for you to do.  Pick a place on your wall (preferably high up) and look at it.  Now, outstretch your arms and wave your hands.  When you keep your eyes on the wall, you will see your hands waving with your peripheral vision.  Now, take your eyes off of the wall and look at your hands.  Can you see the spot that you picked out on the wall? What’s the meaning of that exercise?  The spot on your wall is a metaphor for Jesus.  When we keep our eyes on Him, our problems (waving hands) can still be seen; they just aren’t as big as we thought they were.  If we take our eyes off of Jesus and keep dwelling on our problems (staring at our hands), we cannot see Jesus.  Jesus ends up being in our peripheral vision.  As Christians, that should not be.  So, who should we look for answers? In chemistry, He turned water into wine. John 2:9 In biology, He was born not from natural conception. Luke 1:31 In physics, He disproved the law of gravity when He ascended into Heaven. Eph. 4:10 In economics, He disproved the law of diminishing return by feeding 5,000 men with two fish and bread. John 6:1-14 In medicine, He cured the sick and the blind without administering a single dose of drugs. In history, He is the beginning and the end. Luke 24:51 In government, He said He shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, and the Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6 In religion, He said that no one comes to the Father except through Him. John 14:6 Grace…It Implies Letting Go TO LET GO doesn’t mean to stop caring, it means I can’t do it for someone else. TO LET GO is not to cut myself off, it’s the realization that I can’t control another. TO LET GO is not to enable, but to allow learning from natural consequences. TO LET GO is to admit powerlessness, which means the outcome is not in my hands. TO LET GO is not to try to change or blame another; I can only change myself. TO LET GO is not to care for, but to care about. TO LET GO is not to fix, but to be supportive. TO LET GO is not to judge, but to allow another to be a human being. TO LET GO is not to be in the middle arranging all the outcomes, but to allow others to effect their own outcomes. TO LET GO is not to be protective, it is to permit another to face reality. TO LET GO is not to deny, but to accept. TO LET GO is not to nag, scold, or argue, but to search out my own shortcomings and to correct them. TO LET GO is to adjust everything to my desires, but to take each day as it comes. TO LET GO is not to criticize and regulate anyone, but to try to become what I dream I can be. TO LET GO is not to regret the past, but to grow and to live for the future. TO LET GO is to fear less…and to LOVE more! April Fools?
