"A" in the number of votes - 55% (the majority) voted for
other options. |
| Option "C" |

|
What has the vote revealed to us? |
| A. |
That 85% of our fellowship (Options "A" &
"B" combined), are wiling & ready to move forward in a renovation
project in which the cost would exceed our total pledged amount which is
$1,050,358.00 |
| |
Example "Option A": Total cost of Option
"A" $2,500,000 - this amount exceeds our total pledge by more
than $1,450,000 |
| |
Example "Option B": That the amount of
this project ($1,228,750) would exceed our pledge by a little under
$200,000 |
| B. |
That close to 95% of all votes cast would support whatever
our fellowship selects |
| C. |
That the vast majority of our people do not want
"Option C" - (simply refurbish the Sanctuary Building).
The majority do want a quality renovation, a significant upgrade to our
building. |
|
In conclusion, our vote last Sunday was important
for the following reasons: |
| 1. There would have been no way for us to have
known this data; no way we would have been able to gauge where the
hearts of our people, after prayerful consideration, were. |
| 2. This information shows us that there is strong
unity that exists within our fellowship concerning this project.
The vast majority of our people are ready to move forward with a
renovation. |
| |
|
What is God saying to us through last week's vote? |
| Each of us must pray and come to that conclusion
ourselves. Let me share with you the conclusion that I have
arrived at through prayer. |
| I believe that God is showing us His plan and His
will. I believe that the final plan lies somewhere between
"Options "A" and "B". The majority of our
folks were just about evenly divided over Options "A" and
"B"; not divided over the moving forward with a quality
renovation but rather to the degree and/or extent of how much of a
quality renovation is needed.
I believe that God is saying clearly to us that the vast majority
would rally around a final plan that would be somewhere between Options
"A" and "B". |
