Hispanic Ministries:
We are the
evangelistic arm of Myrtle Grove Baptist Church to Hispanics and their
families in the Pensacola area. Our goal is to seek, identify and reach
the 10,000-strong Spanish speaking community, which statistics show
actually live in this area.
Hispanics living in our area are scattered and with
characteristics that include a mix of languages. Usually, roots of the
older generation are basically Hispanic in language and tradition, with
children brought up within the American culture and language. This
provides Myrtle Grove Baptist Church with unique opportunities to provide
a Hispanic family full support in their Christian walk. There is no
language barrier for the Spanish speaking in our mission and the broad
number of ministries, such as services for children and young adults
offered by the main church, satisfies the specific needs of the Hispanic
family that lives in America; in our case, Pensacola.
Our goal is to identify their location, family
composition and cultural backgrounds. This offers us the opportunity to
reach out effectively by identifying their needs and matching them to our
ministries. We offer them Jesus as their Savior and Myrtle Grove as their
home.
To assist in our Ministry, we have two broadcast
opportunities in the Pensacola area. First, we broadcast on local
television channel 12 (Cox Cable Channel 39) each Monday at 6:30 PM and on
the local AM Radio Station WRNE (980 AM) on Saturday at 7:00 PM.
Here are a few ways you may be able to help:
-
Pray for us. Pray hard!
-
Administrative assistance. Prepare flyers, write letters, make phone
calls to prospects.
-
Planning. Plan activities that will interest our prospects. Organize
meetings in the community.
-
Hospital visitation. Visit our members and prospects who are in local
hospitals.
-
Food Preparation. Prepare food and snacks for item 3. above.
-
Volunteer for the next semester of FAITH.
If you know of a Spanish speaking person or family,
please give us their name, address and phone numbers. God will bless you
for it! Remember, there is no language or ethnic barriers with God.
Jesus came and died for all of us.
