Help & Information about the "Year-In-Review" Pages

As with any graphic intense site these pages take time to load, They are designed to not play, stream or display until there is enough data transferred to your computer for them to flow smoothly - depending on your connect speed and general web conditions.

The pages that are linked below use a plug-in that you may have to download, if you have not done so already, it is safe to download and install the automatic feature.

The files are very graphic intensive with embedded mp3 music and require an open GL video card.  If you have a fairly new system they (might) should play.  They were created on a nearly 5 year old computer - that is for a point of reference.    They have been tested on 12 different computers with various configurations & locations - 2 did not play the files.

Tips

When you click on the link (previous page) nothing seems to happen

This is "normal" - wait a few moments & the music will start first & then a new window will open

The file will just not play - but no error message

Try the following:  Turn off your firewall - the files must be saved to your temporary internet cache

Allow cookies

Lower your internet security level to medium

Empty your Internet Cache

You get an error message and/or your browser closes

Make sure that you have the required plug-in installed (close the window , then reopen it & click the link again) - If it is NOT installed you should be prompted to install it

Check to see if you have the most recent drivers for your video card (you need them anyhow)

It takes forever for the files to play

Yes they do.  These are large files -5 to 7 megs each.  On a cable or DSL connection it will take a few moments. With a dial-up connection you can watch the first half of a football game.

Ok, I've watched the files and now the window won't close - get me out of here!!

This happens on some systems - (hey, at least they play!) - If you are using IE press the F11 key (maybe F12?) to open the window full size.  Then click the "x" to close the window.  Sometimes the music will continue to play - this is what is in the pipeline - if it doesn't ever stop you can either turn your speakers off or really get to know that song..(ahem) -  or you can close your browser's) and the file should stop

Some of the photos & Graphics look "washed out"

Yep, The originals have been compressed almost 98% to save file size - the CD/DVD's that can be made use the high quality original media (see note below)

Note #1 After the file does start to play (sometime in the 3rd quarter of the Super Bowl) and you close it - the next time you play the file it should start and stream much better - don't give up!

Note #2 If all else fails and you really want to see these files they can be made into a CD, Screensaver or DVD for your computer or TV -  they will play full screen and look very nice.

Please send an email via the link at the bottom of the page for more details.

All this sure seems to be a lot of trouble -

On some systems folks just click and they play - on others,  well,  there are some problems that seem to relate to the firewall, security settings & the video card - The age of your computer (within reason) does not seem to be a problem - the files were produced with a 4 1/2 year old PIII 500 and they play fine.....besides, what else do you have to do - it's probably cold outside!
